Kagi
Introducing Kagi, the Paid Search Product I Use
Kagi is a paid search engine, built on the core idea that users pay to access internet search functionalities. It offers three pricing tiers: $5, $10, and $25 per month. After initially trying the $25 tier for a month, I opted for the $10 plan.
For free users, the product offers a trial of 50 searches. The $5 tier allows 300 searches per month, while the $10 and $25 tiers offer unlimited searches. The main difference between these two higher tiers lies in the variety of large AI language models available. For my daily use, I don’t always need the latest models, so the $10 plan is sufficient for me.
Beyond search, Kagi also provides several useful additional features. In addition to the large language models from various AI companies mentioned earlier (which essentially cover all models on the market, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Mistral, etc.), it offers some very convenient and lightweight services. These services are perfectly designed to leverage the strengths of today’s large language models.
As I’ve mentioned before, large language models excel at translation and proofreading, and Kagi has developed features for both. Its translation, powered by large language models, is significantly more accurate than services offered by various search engines and online translation software. It’s not just accurate; it’s remarkably close to perfect.
Proofreading, which can be understood as translation without language conversion, is also exceptionally well done. This means I no longer need to meticulously check my writing; I can simply hand the final text over to Kagi for proofreading.
I’ve used both of these features for this very article; what you’re reading now is the proofread result. The full translation of this article, also done by Kagi, will be placed at the end.
Since I handle a fair amount of text-based work daily, these two features are incredibly practical for me. Regardless of the paid tier, all subscribers have unlimited access to both.
I’m not sure how many people in the Chinese-speaking community pay for this product. If you’re also a user, feel free to leave a comment and connect with me.
